C is for Clutter In Linen Closets

Closets become "catch-alls"! Linen closets are no different and often become homes to games, boxed childhood memories and of course, linens. Go through each shelf, and get rid of sheets and towels you haven't used in several years and ones that don't match the size mattresses you currently use or are faded, stained or the elastic is worn down. Donate old items to the local animal shelter or homeless shelter. Stack complete bed sets together and towels set together.

Basic Bed sets are: 2 pillowcases, fitted sheet, flat sheet.
Basic Towel Set is: 1 hand towel, 1 wash/face cloth, and one body towel.

Its Expired!!!

Hello my friends! I have another challenge for you today! Its similar to yesterdays challenge Hole-y Moley. This time i want everyone reading this to go into the refrigerator! If you are at home, do it NOW! If you are at work, do it later when you get home! OR if you are in charge of the fridge at work, do it too!

Go shelf by shelf and then the drawers and throw out anything that is expired, mushy, smelly, and discolored. If there are spills, get a wet cloth and wipe it!

How long did it take you? Do you have more room? How do you feel?

Spring cleaning can start small but any movement is good!

Before The Purge: Check With Your Tax Professional First!

Papers Papers Papers Papers!! Doesn't it seem like papers multiply like rabbits?! Papers can be a nuisance yet some papers are important and necessary!Tax season is in a last few weeks and I'm all about the purge, but before you do so:

Certain papers and documents and files are to be kept for a certain number of years. Check your tax professional, accountant, office manager, whomever handles this and make sure you keep the right files. Once you do than you can file them away OR put them in storage (labelled of course) and purge the rest!!!

The Revolving Door

Many professional organizers suggest the ONE IN/ONE OUT RULE. I'm okay with this. Its another small way to help in the fight against clutter. The rule is at the time of purchasing a new item (shirt, book,CD, toy) think of something to take out of the house. So every item you bring in, you take an item out! And you'll never run out of room!

Rome Wasn't Built In A Day

You can't unclutter or fully organize overnight!! So what CAN you do? Be truthful and honest about it! Maybe you need to start small. A counter top? A corner on the floor?
The sink?
